Baseball Recap: North Salinas Takes a Loss

North Salinas fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Monterey on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Dores by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

Zack Sims was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Isaac Sigala was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

North Salinas' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Monterey, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Salinas will face off against Pajaro Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monterey, they will take on Hollister at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
