Volleyball Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

Westlake was the 2-0 winner over Medina when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Demons fell 2-0 to the Battling Bees on Saturday. The Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-19.

Leah Navratil paced Westlake's offense, picking up five kills. Navratil got some help from Rowan Krall and her seven assists.

Among those leading the charge was Leah McKinley, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven matchups.

Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Medina, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.

Coincidentally, Westlake and Medina will both be playing Solon the next time they take the court. The Battling Bees will head out to face the Comets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Demons will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
