Baseball Preview: Payson Lions vs. Mountain View Bruins

Payson has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Mountain View Bruins at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

Payson lost 14-3 to Corner Canyon on Thursday.

Porter Beckstead made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Payson didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with ten strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corner Canyon only tossed six.

Uintah typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Mountain View proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Utes.

Sam Tatton looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Hernando Chaparro was excellent, going 1-for-3 with a home run.

Payson has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Mountain View, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-15.
