Soccer Game Preview: West Charlotte vs. Hough

West Charlotte hasn't had much luck against Hough recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lions will head out to square off against the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. West Charlotte has given up an average of 5.5 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Charlotte is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Hopewell, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, West Charlotte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 497th, while Hopewell are ranked 110th).

Hough played against West Mecklenburg on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

The victory made it two in a row for Hough and bumps their season record up to 17-0-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two games. As for West Charlotte, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14-1.

West Charlotte suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Hough in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
