Volleyball Recap: Greenbrier Wolfpack vs. South Effingham Mustangs

After flying high against Grovetown on Tuesday, Greenbrier came back down to earth. The Wolfpack took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Effingham Mustangs on Friday. The Wolfpack were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Catherine Millar paced Greenbrier's offense, picking up four kills. Millar got some help from Karsynn Tucker and her seven assists. Finally, Madelyn Lincicum kept Greenbrier's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

South Effingham can attribute much of their success to Lauren Olson, who had 16 digs.

Greenbrier has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-16 record this season. As for South Effingham, they are on a roll lately: they've won 26 of their last 28 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 35-10 record this season.

Greenbrier has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Statesboro on the 11th. As for South Effingham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Lakeside on the 11th.
