Softball Recap: Capital Gets the Win

Capital proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Belen Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Jaguars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Jadyn Padilla, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Capital always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Capital's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Belen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Capital wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-3 win against Santa Fe Indian on the 11th. As for Belen, they have also already played their next match, a 16-1 victory against Valley on the 11th.
