Softball Recap: Lockney Takes a Loss

Gruver hit Lockney with a eight-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Longhorns lost 15-5 to the Greyhounds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Longhorns of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Lockney saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Siya Salazar, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Lockney and nudges their season record down to 12-14-1. As for Gruver, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Greyhounds beat Lockney by a score of 33-12 later that day.
