The Jefferson Jaguars are taking a road trip to face off against the Cannon Falls Bombers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson will be strutting in after a win while Cannon Falls will be coming in after a defeat.
Jefferson took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Benilde-St. Margaret's. The win was some much needed relief for the Jaguars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Cannon Falls didn't have quite enough to beat Stewartville on Thursday and fell 3-2.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Cannon Falls sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 21-25, 25-18, 17-25, 15-6.
Despite the loss, Cannon Falls saw an underclassman step up: Katie Tipton had 30 digs.
Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Cannon Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Jefferson was able to grind out a solid win over Cannon Falls in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, winning 3-1.
