Soccer Game Preview: Southside vs. Southwest

Southside hasn't had much luck against Southwest recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Southside Cardinals will venture away from home to take on the Southwest Dragons at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Southside gave up the first goal last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over McCollum. The Cardinals didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Meanwhile, Southwest put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Jay with a sharp 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Southside pushed their record up to 5-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for Southwest, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.

Southside might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Southwest in their previous meeting back in January. Can Southside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
