Basketball Game Preview: Ogallala Indians vs. Alliance Bulldogs

Ogallala and Alliance are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Ogallala Indians will be playing at home against the Alliance Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ogallala knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully Alliance likes a good challenge.

Ogallala is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Scottsbluff, who was ranked 13th at the time (Ogallala was ranked fifth). Ogallala walked away with a 68-61 win over Scottsbluff on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 27-27 at the break, but the Indians were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alliance). They really took it to Gordon-Rushville for the full four quarters, racking up a 79-31 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-19.

Ogallala's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Alliance, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Everything went Ogallala's way against Alliance in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Ogallala made off with a 73-47 victory. Does Ogallala have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alliance turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
