Basketball Game Preview: Alexander Central Cougars vs. Davie County War Eagles + How To Watch

The Alexander Central Cougars will head out to challenge the Davie County War Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alexander Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Alexander Central needed a bit of extra time to put away Hibriten. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since February 11th.

Meredith Wike had an outrageously good game as she almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. The game was her sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Malayah Adams, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Alexander Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Davie County suffered their closest loss since January 3rd on Wednesday. They fell just short of West Rowan by a score of 61-58. The defeat continues a trend for the War Eagles in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost nine in a row.

Alexander Central will have to contain Lexi Mickey as she made an impact in Davie County's last game. She earned 26 points.

Alexander Central's record now sits at 3-0. As for Davie County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
