Basketball Recap: Newman International Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Newman International Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the ILTexas Arlington Eagles by a score of 61-59 on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (58), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Newman International Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Arianna Miranda, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 47.5% of Newman International Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Adaolisa Nda was another key player, going 6 for 8 en route to 13 points along with five boards and four blocks.

Newman International Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-14. As for ILTexas Arlington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.
