Basketball Game Preview: Glencoe Crimson Tide vs. Hillsboro Spartans

The Glencoe Crimson Tide will take on the Hillsboro Spartans in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glencoe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.

Glencoe lost 66-40 to Benson Tech on Saturday. The contest marked the Crimson Tide's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite their loss, Glencoe saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Andrew Darrington, who posted seven points and six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Dillon Moody, who earned five points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Glencoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro made easy work of Springfield on Saturday and carried off a 79-59 victory.

Hillsboro's win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Glencoe, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Glencoe beat Hillsboro 67-54 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Glencoe repeat their success, or does Hillsboro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
