Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Notre Dame

Notre Dame never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the Ewing Blue Devils 14-0. The win was just business as usual for the Irish, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Josh Klena tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mike Shipula, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Cutrupi, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Notre Dame always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ewing only posted an OBP of .333.

Notre Dame's record is now 3-0. As for Ewing, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will take on Hamilton at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ewing, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Trenton Central at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
