Basketball Game Preview: Corinth Warriors vs. West Point Green Wave

The Corinth Warriors and the West Point Green Wave will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Corinth has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Corinth was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 66-61 to Clarksdale. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (60), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, West Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Hope. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Trojans are ranked 90th).

West Point's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Corinth, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Corinth came up short against West Point when the teams last played back in January, falling 50-38. Can Corinth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
