Basketball Game Preview: Ponte Vedra Sharks vs. Bishop Snyder Cardinals

The Ponte Vedra Sharks will be taking part in a tournament against the Bishop Snyder Cardinals at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ponte Vedra is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Ponte Vedra earned a 44-33 win over St. Augustine.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ponte Vedra to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trace Westercamp, who posted seven points and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Ryan Speace, who earned 11 points.

Meanwhile, Bishop Snyder hadn't done well against Providence School recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Bishop Snyder walked away with a 59-52 victory over Providence School. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Bishop Snyder's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-9. As for Ponte Vedra, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Everything came up roses for Ponte Vedra against Bishop Snyder in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, as the team secured a 76-32 win. In that matchup, Ponte Vedra amassed a halftime lead of 45-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
