Volleyball Recap: Turpin Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Turpin had taken Mason down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Spartans fell 3-1 to the Comets. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 16, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Turpin was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mason work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-15, 24-26, 25-15.

Maddie Steele paced Turpin's offense, picking up 17 kills. Steele got some help from Lilly Woolums and her 35 assists. Alexandra Soldner controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Mason to victory were Ella Groff and Emma Caddell. Groff had 12 digs and seven assists, while Caddell had 13 assists and four digs.

Turpin's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Mason, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Turpin has already played their next matchup (against Northwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mason, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Kings on the 13th.
