Softball Recap: Valley Mills Gets the Win

Lipan typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Valley Mills proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Indians, sneaking past 8-6. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Indians on Thursday, they had to take a 12-11 defeat.

Valley Mills let Brinley Siems and Lacee Engelbrecht run wild. Siems went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles, while Engelbrecht got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that Siems has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Hardy, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Valley Mills' win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Lipan, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Valley Mills beat the Indians by a score of 20-6 later that day.
