Volleyball Game Preview: North Daviess Cougars vs. Shoals Jug Rox

After both having extra time off, the North Daviess Cougars and the Shoals Jug Rox will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, North Daviess turned things around against Dugger Union on Wednesday. They blew past the Bulldogs 3-0.

North Daviess walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-19, 25-18.

Shoals hadn't beaten Wood Memorial on the road since September 6, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Jug Rox put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 3-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Jug Rox have posted against the Trojans since September 6, 2019.

Shoals' got stronger as the match went on, holding Wood Memorial to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-12.

Shoals' win bumped their record up to 22-4. As for North Daviess, their victory bumped their record up to 12-16.

North Daviess came up short against Shoals in their previous meeting back in August, falling 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
