Basketball Game Preview: Kingwood Mustangs vs. North Shore Mustangs

Kingwood hasn't had much luck against North Shore recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Kingwood will take on North Shore in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kingwood is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Goose Creek Memorial: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mustangs blew the Patriots out of the water with a 74-43 final score. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Patriots are ranked 590th) , the win on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, North Shore made easy work of Humble on Tuesday and carried off a 57-34 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

North Shore's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Kingwood, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.

Kingwood took a serious blow against North Shore in their previous matchup back in January, falling 75-12. Can Kingwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
