Softball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Olathe West

With a playoff win on the line, Olathe West rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Derby Panthers with a sharp 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Celise Kellepouris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, Maliyah Warren was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brevyn Kellepouris, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

The victory keeps Olathe West at an undefeated 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Derby, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.
