Football Recap: Riverview Skates Past Grosse Ile with Ease

Riverview extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 6-2. They breezed past the Grosse Ile Red Devils to the tune of 68-24. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Nathan Johnson threw for 55 yards. Braylon Orcher was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards. On the ground, Christian Rhea rushed for 197 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries.

As for Grosse Ile, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Riverview is ranked 105th).

Grosse Ile lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tanner Symons, who threw for 207 yards and three TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Rocco Cappelino, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one score.

Looking ahead, Riverview will challenge St. Francis de Sales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grosse Ile, they will face off against Dundee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
