Caruthers moved up to 671 from 744 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in West Sequoia. The Blue Raiders were able to move up by topping Parlier 43-17.

Minarets and Riverdale played the most contested game in the league this week, with Minarets eventually emerging with a 25-23 victory. Mitch Pritchett ran for 93 yards during the win.

James Silva threw for 229 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 11-16 with 1 interception.

Jake Blankenship was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Mustangs defeated the Cowboys. The 6-foot-5 junior nabbed 1 interception and grabbed 1 sack.

Silva put up the best numbers in passing as Fowler defeated Orange Cove. Silva's favorite target this week was Blake Brisco, who caught 4 passes for 136 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Redcats' Silva and Brisco have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-9 quarterback Silva has thrown for 601 yards this season, while Brisco has 28 catches for 437 yards. Pritchett from Minarets leads the league in rushing with 379 yards.

The top two teams in West Sequoia will face off this week when first place Caruthers takes on second place Riverdale. Caruthers beat the Panthers last week, while Riverdale lost to Bob Kelly's team.

Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Fowler's Brisco goes up against the Mustangs' Blankenship.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Steve Nelson's team and Minarets face off next week.

Next week's game between the Redcats and the Mustangs will feature a good passing match up as Silva will test his arm against Blankenship's defensive ability.

The league will see a high scoring game when Minarets and Fowler face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Mustangs comes in having scored 162 this season, while the Redcats have scored 110. Minarets scored 25 points last week as it topped Bryan Close's team.
