DuBois has gone 8-2 against Altoona recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Beavers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountain Lions at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (DuBois has three straight victories, Altoona has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
DuBois had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Bradford last Wednesday. The Beavers put the hurt on the Owls with a sharp 17-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won three matches by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Kendall Lashinsky spent all three innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.
At the plate, DuBois got a massive performance out of Brielle Gray, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. Grace Reynolds was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.
DuBois always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Altoona came up short against Central Cambria on Saturday, falling 15-6.
Mary Worley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
DuBois' victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Altoona, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Altoona's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: DuBois hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .411. It's a different story for Altoona, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain DuBois' hitters?
DuBois was able to grind out a solid win over Altoona in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 9-4. Will the Beavers repeat their success, or do the Mountain Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
