Baseball Recap: Valencia Takes a Loss

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Valencia was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell 5-2 to the Grants Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-1 on April 1st.

Valencia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pryce Henry, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Valencia has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Grants, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Valencia and Grants will both be playing St. Pius X the next time they take the field. The Pirates will host the Sartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Jaguars will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
