Football Recap: Nick Vanhoose Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win

After losing to Northwestern the last time they met, North Union decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wildcats walked away with a 28-20 win over the Warriors on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

North Union's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nick Vanhoose, who rushed for 156 yards and two scores. That's the most rushing yards Vanhoose has posted since back in September of 2024. Another back making a difference was Wyatt Arver, who rushed for 69 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Union was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 331 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

North Union didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Griffin Osborne.

North Union's record is now 5-3. As for Northwestern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
