Baseball Recap: Chief Sealth Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Chief Sealth had lost five straight, but after bumping their record up to 7-7 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Franklin Quakers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Seahawks also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

Chief Sealth gave Ezra Cox the start and clearly made the right call: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Cox has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Julian Reinhardt was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025.

As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Franklin's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Court, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chief Sealth will square off against Ballard at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Franklin, they will take on Kent-Meridian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Royals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.11 runs per game on average), something the Quakers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
