Soccer Recap: Union Comes Up Short

Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to the Abingdon Falcons. While losing is never fun, Union can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Abingdon are ranked 105th).

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Abingdon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Abingdon has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against John Battle on the 1st. Hopefully Union paid attention to the Falcons' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
