Greenville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mater Dei, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Comets were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Knights on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Greenville pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mater Dei, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville will venture away from home to square off against Gillespie at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mater Dei, they will head out to challenge Civic Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
