Baseball Recap: Mission Bay Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

On Wednesday Mission Bay's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the West Hills Wolf Pack. That's more bragging rights for the Buccaneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mission Bay got a great performance from Blake Barnes as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Barnes has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emery Semmens, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Mission Bay's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for West Hills, they moved to 4-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mission Bay will welcome Southwest SD at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Hills, they will challenge Mira Mesa at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
