Soccer Preview: Archbishop Molloy vs. Iona Prep
The Archbishop Molloy Stanners will venture away from home to challenge the Iona Prep Gaels at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.
Archbishop Molloy can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on September 6th. They lost 3-0 to St. Francis Prep.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Iona Prep's offense. They fell just short of St. Francis Prep by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The Gaels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Archbishop Molloy skirted past Iona Prep 2-1 in their previous meeting back in September of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for Archbishop Molloy since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
