Winning is just a little bit easier when you make six more threes than your opponent, a fact Miami Valley proved on Saturday. They walked away with a 62-52 victory over Twin Valley South.
Jacob Barnard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Thomas Cook was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, everything went Legacy Christian Academy's way against Middletown Christian on Friday as Legacy Christian Academy made off with a 64-42 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Legacy Christian Academy just coasted through the last quarter.
It was another big night for Parker Burke, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.
Miami Valley pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Tuesday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Miami Valley have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 39.1% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Legacy Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've made 46.7% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
