Baseball Recap: North Pitt Comes Up Short

North Pitt fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against West Craven on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 on Tuesday.

Tylik Sherrod made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

North Pitt's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-13. As for West Craven, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-12.

North Pitt will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Farmville Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for West Craven, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-3 victory against Nash Central on the 23rd.
