Softball Recap: Fulton County Takes a Loss

Fulton County had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-7 to make it five. They came up short against the Gleason Bulldogs, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 last Thursday.

As for Gleason, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

For Gleason's part, Brinley Lehmkuhl was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run was Lehmkuhl's first of the season. Kadence Witherspoon was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Coming up, Fulton County will square off against Fulton City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pilots are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Gleason does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
