This season hasn't been kind to the Wagener-Salley War Eagles, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. Their rough 73-51 loss to Horse Creek Academy on Wednesday might stick with them for a while.
Horse Creek Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenny Bowman out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kingston Hightower, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Wagener-Salley bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Horse Creek Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wagener-Salley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Williston-Elko at 8:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Horse Creek Academy, they will challenge Jefferson Davis Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Jefferson Davis Academy is ranked 189th, while Horse Creek Academy is ranked 195th).
