Game recap: Spanish Fort High School Football Team beats McAdory

MaxPreps BIRMINGHAM High School Football.

MCCALLA, Ala. - McAdory (McCalla, Ala.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 6 in Alabama, but was stunned by Spanish Fort (Ala.), 45-14. Spanish Fort was ranked at No. 9 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Alabama coming into the week.

The Toros were up 14-7 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Joel Poe to Devonte Patrick in the second quarter.

Spanish Fort expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. SF scored three times in the third, including once on a field goal by Alexander Theodore.



The loss snapped the Yellowjackets' 15-game winning streak.

Poe played well for the Toros in the victory. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.

Kyran Moore played well for McAdory. The junior ran for one touchdown.

Spanish Fort came into the game allowing 16.3 points per game. MHS came in allowing just 11.9 points per game this season.

The defeat comes as a step back for McAdory, which notched a 10-3 victory over Muscle Shoals in its previous outing.

The McCalla school (15-1) will play a playoff game against Spanish Fort next week. The Toros go into the week with a record of 15-1.
