Football Recap: Bledsoe County Gets the Win

Bledsoe County posted their closest win since March 7th on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 13-12 photo finish over the Silverdale Academy Seahawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-0 back in March.

Bledsoe County found their leader in sophomore Lilianne Sherrell, who rushed for 91 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 190 yards while completing 72.2% of her passes. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 51 yards.

Bledsoe County's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Silverdale Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Bledsoe County will square off against Rhea County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Golden Eagles at the right time seeing as the Golden Eagles are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Silverdale Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
