Basketball Recap: Landon Blackwell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Copper Hills

Mountain Ridge posted their closest win since January 19, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Copper Hills Grizzlies out 59-56. This was a revenge game for the Sentinels: when they faced off against the Grizzlies back in January, they had to take a 60-54 defeat.

Mountain Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Blackwell, who posted 16 points and six boards. Blackwell's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Will Lindsay was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Copper Hills still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Reiser, who went 12-for-20 en route to 31 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Daxton Nelson, who earned nine points.

The victory got Mountain Ridge back to even at 11-11. As for Copper Hills, they dropped their record down to 12-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Mountain Ridge will challenge Corner Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. One thing working in Corner Canyon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. As for Copper Hills, they will face off against Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Copper Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.
