Football Recap: Spring-Ford Takes a Loss

Spring-Ford extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were beaten by the Easton Area Rovers 36-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 49-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Kaden Pickersgill threw for 46 yards on 11 of 18 attempts. On the ground, Matthew Montgomery rushed for 50 yards.

As for Easton Area, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Spring-Ford is ranked 91st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Easton Area was led to victory by Cole Ordway and Chris Martinez. Ordway rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Martinez rushed for 165 yards and one score while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Those 165 rushing yards gave Martinez a new career-high.

Coming up, Spring-Ford will challenge Downingtown East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Easton Area, they will take on Erasmus Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
