Volleyball Recap: Hardee Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Hardee lost against Lake Placid back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 3-2. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Dragons 25-18 in the first set.

Hardee started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-12.

Lake Placid was led to victory by Marely Tamayo and Ava Ritacco. Tamayo had 17 digs and one assist, while Ritacco had 17 digs and eight aces. That's the most digs Tamayo has posted over her last eight matchups. Zuleyma Garcia also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Hardee has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Lake Placid, their victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hardee will face off against DeSoto County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Placid, they will challenge Moore Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
