Basketball Recap: Mount De Sales Academy Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Mount de Sales Academy extended their home winning streak to five games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Payton Latimer. The Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers walked away with a 53-42 victory over the Strong Rock Christian Patriots on Friday thanks in part to Latimer, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Latimer is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Kenzie Jordan, who posted eight points in addition to ten rebounds and six blocks. Those six blocks gave her a new career-high.

Mount de Sales Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Strong Rock Christian, they moved to 10-1 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount de Sales Academy and Schley County will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for Strong Rock Christian, they will face off against Windsor Academy at 4:00 p.m. on December 30th. Strong Rock Christian's defense has only allowed 22.3 points per game this season, so Windsor Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
