Softball Game Preview: University Red Devils vs. Redwood Christian Eagles

The University Red Devils will take on the Redwood Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. University has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 24.

University came up short against St. Joseph Notre Dame on Tuesday, falling 16-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Redwood Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-5 margin over Piedmont on Wednesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.

Angelina Dorris looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kate Goodson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Cook, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Redwood Christian pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
