Softball Game Preview: Warrior Run Defenders vs. Shikellamy Braves

The Warrior Run Defenders will venture away from home to face off against the Shikellamy Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Warrior Run has three straight wins, Shikellamy has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Warrior Run earned a 6-2 victory over Montgomery.

MacKenzie Heyler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lakesha Hauck, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mckenna Forman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run.

Meanwhile, Shikellamy came up short against Halifax on Wednesday and fell 4-1.

Shikellamy's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Warrior Run, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
