Thornwood lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Crete-Monee, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's match. The Thunderbirds were the clear victors by a 19-10 margin over the Warriors on Wednesday. Considering the Thunderbirds have won 13 contests by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Milan Crain was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mykyla Jones, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Ashley Phillips was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Thornwood is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs. As for Crete-Monee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Thornwood will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
