Softball Recap: Lancaster's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waxahachie, Lancaster was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the DeSoto Eagles by a score of 14-10. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Kayla Clemmons made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Clemmons was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kelsea Patton was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jourinee Dillard, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.

With the victory, Lancaster broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 19-11. As for DeSoto, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

As of now, neither Lancaster nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
