Volleyball Recap: Austin Valdez and Devin Francisco Secure Win for Rancho San Juan

Rancho San Juan lost to North Salinas back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Trailblazers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trailblazers.

Rancho San Juan was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-13, 15-25, 25-21, 15-13.

Leading Rancho San Juan to victory were Devin Francisco and Austin Valdez. Francisco had 33 digs, while Valdez had 21 digs. Francisco is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season.

Rancho San Juan's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-11. As for North Salinas, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coincidentally, Rancho San Juan and North Salinas will both be playing Everett Alvarez the next time they take the court. The Trailblazers will head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Vikings will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
