Baseball Game Preview: Woden Eagles vs. Timpson Bears

Woden is 8-2 against Timpson since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. Timpson took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Woden, who comes in off a win.

Woden barely beat Chireno the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles blew past the Owls 10-4 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Woden let Brayden Dichard and Josh Hernandez run wild. Dichard scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Hernandez scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Woden is undefeated when Dichard posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Stanaland, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Timpson was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 13-1 to Shelbyville. The Bears have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Woden's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Timpson, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Woden was able to grind out a solid win over Timpson in their previous matchup back in March, winning 7-4. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
