Soccer Game Preview: West Harrison vs. Resurrection Catholic

The West Harrison Hurricanes will face off against the Resurrection Catholic Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Harrison's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

West Harrison fell victim to George County and their airtight defense on Saturday. They came up short against the Rebels, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Rebels are ranked 23rd).

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in November of 2024, Resurrection Catholic was forced to settle for a draw on Friday. They and Pascagoula finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw.

West Harrison's loss dropped their record down to 0-6-1. Resurrection Catholic's draw makes their record 4-4-2 this season.

West Harrison skirted past Resurrection Catholic 2-1 when the teams last played back in December of 2019. Does West Harrison have another victory up their sleeve, or will Resurrection Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
