Hialeah Gardens waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Mater Lakes Academy Bears. With that victory, the Gladiators brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Jerry Sosa was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Anthony Castillo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Sosa wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hialeah Gardens kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.

Hialeah Gardens' record now sits at 10-8. As for Mater Lakes Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8-4.

Looking ahead, Hialeah Gardens will challenge Downtown Doral at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Gladiators' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Dolphins have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they will face off against Dr. Krop at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lightning will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
