After a string of five wins, The Independence 76ers''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 18-8 to Watkins Memorial. The low total for Independence limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.
Donte Truss threw for 125 yards and a touchdown. Antonio Weaver was his top target, picking up 68 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Nequan Harris rushed for 62 yards on only six carries.
Independence now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Watkins Memorial, their victory was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-3.
Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Watkins Memorial will face off against Canal Winchester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
